DANCERS ROAD | NEW SEASON COMING UP

Vintage South American Totem Wall Hanging from Dancers Road

My holiday ended last Sunday and even though I have that melancholic summer is almost over feel all over me I’m also looking forward to the new season and everything that is to come. On my travels I found many many beautiful vintage treasuries that will soon be listed in my Etsy shop. I made a little start photographing them last week and I can’t wait to make many more nice photos of all them. This summer I’ve also been taking some big steps into making young Dancers Road into a grown up business but I will tell you more of that later!

This beautiful 1970’s wall hanging is one of the new items I listed in the shop last week and it’s one of my personal favourites because of the bright and warm colours and the totem image.

HOME DECO | THE FOLK LOOK

shop the macedonian folk interior look selection made by DANCERS ROAD blog

Inspired by the Museum for Ethno culture and the photos from my last post I made this little ensemble of folk items to create a folk look at home and to take a little bit of my Macedonian holiday home. Some pieces are vintage, others are new and you can shop them online. The peacock feathers in a vase really inspired me, I remembered I use to have them in my room when I was a child and had almost forgotten about them. I always thought they were a little mysterious, coming from such magical birds. The blanket from Urban Outfitters is also one of my personal favourites because it instantly creates a warm and cosy look in a room.

INTERIOR | INSPIRATION FROM MACEDONIA

Traditional Macedonian Interior from the Museum of Ethno Culture Macedonia from DancersRoad blog www.dancersroad.wordpress.com

Being a hug admirer of everything folk I’m really at the right place at the moment (still in Macedonia). There are colourful patterns everywhere around me here and lot’s of handmade textiles on the walls, ground, chairs and couches. Tomorrow we’ll visit Ohrid and hopefully there will be time to visit the Museum for Ethno Culture in Resen. These images of traditional Macedonian interiors come from their website and I would really love to see them in real life. The furniture is beautiful and I love the mixture of  textiles and how every individual item is different and unique yet it all fits together. Decoration with so much eye for detail <3.

BOHEMIAN HOME | VINTAGE FINDINGS

Vintage treasuries for the warm bohemian home selected by DancersRoad blog

Dusty pink is one of my absolute favourite colours in the world, I love wearing clothes in that powder pink shade and I love it in my interior. This colour combines beautifully with almost all other colours and it creates a warm and cosy feel, perfect for the eclectic bohemian home. Finding the right pink items can be difficult but I found some great pieces on Etsy. The antique pink couch is absolutely magnificent and I can’t get over the absolute uniqueness of this little lamp bowl with the cute little dog guarding it. Items like this make my vintage loving heart beat a little bit faster. I found all these vintage items on Etsy and you can shop them here:

VINAGE TAPESTRY, TRIPOD KIDNEY TABLE, KILLIM PILLOW, WOODEN BOWL,

WATERCOLOR DRAWING, PINK EDWARDIAN COUCH, ART DECO LAMP

A CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS

mountain cabin by Dancers Road Blog

At the moment I’m lucky enough to be traveling in one of the (if not the) most beautiful countries in the world: Austria (again). We visited Salzburg which I will tell you about and show you more of later and we drove and walked around in the mountains around the famous lake district. Here are some photos I took in the sweetest little mountain cabin. I could go on for hours on how much I love the interior of this place; the wooden chairs, the wood on the walls and the ceiling, the landscape paintings, the gorgeous tablecloths and the fabric on the chairs. And I really like how the chairs have a different pattern and a different fabric than the tablecloths and the benches. Not to mention the view outside… I could stay here forever, drink tea from little floral cups and eat germknödel every day… well maybe not every day because it is a very filling dish, this one. P. and me shared it and had enough for the rest of the day. But boy was it good!

They apear in more than one interior style; colourful masks in the modern boho interiors and simple wooden masks in the more natural green and white interiors. I also see them more and more in movie decors and in shops which is not very strange because they are  gorgeous eyecatchers for any home. Here are a few of my favourite examples from Etsy!
